Well, well, well, some time has gone by and again I’m sorry for leaving you so uninformed for so long, It happened that I was living many things and having so little free time to actually sit down and write. Every time I wanna write this blog I have such a mental debate whether to leave aside many things in order to write. Summarizing, Its been 3 months for me in Tokyo and I start to get used to it and I’m talking in Japanese so much more! Every day I feel surprised with something I’ve managed to say or understood and I start to have 100% Japanese conversations, whether these are correct or deep, well that’s a whole different story, but at least it is a start!!! So I’m happy for that. At the same time, I think that it is inevitable while living here to feel a bit isolated and also to start missing stuff from Argentina and Buenos Aires, although I’m completely sure that I wouldn’t be anywhere else than in Tokyo in this moment. There are several explanations for this, the Japanese society has codes for communication apart from language that are hard to understand and it takes time to learn those. And for that reason many times I just cannot help feeling frustrated, or feeling that I loose touch with my home culture while not feeling integrated here, so it’s tough. This also helps me to understand why I’m here, and it’s because it’s hard, not only for me but for every foreigner that comes to Japan, and understanding this culture and language is such a big chance that I have now and that I feel I shouldn’t waste.

Apart from that, I’m so happy by the fact that I’ve made some Japanese friends; Azusa, Hiro, Naoto, Megumi (etc.) and with them I start to share time and stuff, and it’s then when I enjoy my time the most. Also I have my dorm friends; Mori, Tugba, Miriam, Cesar (etc.) that always around when I need them.

Well now let’s move on the Touristy-fun summary of the previous days, From recent to old:

Yesterday I’ve been to Yokohama with Azusa and we went around this beautiful area called Minato-Mirai on the seaside, There is a big pier (Osanbashi) that is a freaking amazing architectural work , and some old red-brick warehouses that were refurbished and have an amazing vibe going on inside, with cool shops and restaurants inside and out. Also has big and quiet parks facing the sea, contrasting with the narrow hectic style of Tokyo. We also went to (Chukagai) China Town in Yokohama, had lunch there and went around, it was really big and nice, and very similar to all the China Towns in the world.

But this was not my first time in Yokohama, on Friday night I was also there with Megumi for dinner and I had the chance to see the city by night as well. Yokohama is beautiful and has some similarities to Buenos Aires, I really liked it.

Last weekend I also went around many places as well, on Sunday one more time I’ve been to the Aji-Sta (Ajinomoto-Staduim) with Isamu to see a football match. Although our team couldn’t win (1-1), we jumped and singed with the ‘Furigan’ (hooligans) that are so nice (lol!) they even tell you ‘Thanks for coming!!” after the game!! During the game it was raining and we were drenched, happily got a free towel of the team with my ticket and it was fun. Oh, another interesting thing, after each game the players that were in the bench during the game go into the tribunes to clean!!! I was so shocked!!! (nothing to do with Argentina!) It is possible to help them so Isamu and I also collaborated with the cleanliness of Aji-Sta for something like 2 minutes (hehe).

On that weekend on Saturday I joined Azusa to get her computer in Akihabara (the electronic goods’ neighborhood) so we spend a good while looking around comparing prices until Azu finally got an nice Vaio Computer and got back home, I kept on walking to meet Natsuki (a.k.a. Natalia) for dinner at ‘El Caminito’ (Argentine) restaurant, which was great! The food really authentic and a nice Argentine atmosphere could be felt in the place, to my surprise no one in the restaurant was Argentine! LOL. From there a few drinks in Shinjuku and coming back home with last train to my station (Seijo Gakuen Mae), one more time the same Cinderella story of having to come back home on the last train (at 12:36) forced by the Tokyo transport system! Buuuu…

Before that, we’ve been to Asakusa (old Tokyo) with Mecit, Yaya and Natsuki and it was fun!! We even took ‘Purikura’ typical Japanese photos, you can see it here!...

I also met Dena, Joe Joe’s friend at the posh area of Akasaka, and it was really nice!!!!

De Vuelta al Blog!

Bueno, bueno, bueno, ha pasado algo de tiempo y perdón nuevamente por colgarme así y dejarlos sin noticias, pero estuve viviendo muchas cosas y con tan poco tiempo de escribir, es mas cada vez que me siento a escribir tengo que dejar de hacer varias cosas, por lo que siempre tengo un debate mental antes de sentarme a escribir. En conclusión han pasado 3 meses de que estoy en Tokio y empiezo a acostumbrarme a vivir acá y empiezo a hablar mas y mas!!! Cada día me sorprendo que cosas que digo o que entiendo, y empiezo a tener conversaciones 100% japonesas, aunque no del todo correctas ni profundas pero bueeeeno es un comienzo, así que estoy feliz por eso. Al mismo tiempo creo que es inevitable al vivir acá sentirse un poco aislado y también a extrañar algunas cosas de Argentina y de Buenos Aires, aunque estoy completamente seguro de que no estaría en otro lugar del mundo mas que en Tokio en este momento. Hay muchas explicaciones para esto, la sociedad japonesa pone su distancia, hay códigos que son necesarios para relacionarse más allá del idioma y que toma su tiempo aprenderlos, y muchas veces me siento frustrado y me siento que pierdo contacto con mi cultura y que al mismo tiempo no estoy todavía integrado acá, entonces es difícil. Esto también me ayuda a entender por que estoy acá, porque es difícil, no es solo difícil para mi sino para todos los que extranjeros que vienen a Japón, y entender esta cultura e idioma es una oportunidad realmente grande que yo tengo en este momento y que siento que tengo que aprovechar.

Mas allá de ello, me pone feliz el hecho que me hice algunos amigos japoneses; Azuza, Hiro, Naoto, Megumi, (etc.) y con ellos empiezo a compartir tiempo y cosas y es cuando mejor paso mi tiempo, además están mis amigos de la residencia; Mori, Tugba, Miriam, Cesar, (etc.) que están siempre dando vueltas por acá y es muy bueno tenerlos cerca, porque realmente están si los necesito.

Bueno ahora se viene el resumen Turístico del los últimos días de mi vida Tokiota;

Desde lo más reciente a lo más antiguo:

Ayer estuve en Yokohama con Azusa y recorrimos toda una zona hermosa (que se parece mucho a Puerto Madero) que se llama el Minato-Mirai. Esta zona tiene un gran muelle (Osanbashi) que es una obra genial de arquitectura, unos antiguos almacenes de ladrillos rojos que los remodelaron y que tienen una onda increíble con negocios y restaurantes muy cool, y muchos parques con vista al mar que son muy espaciosos y tranquilos a diferencia de Tokio, aunque queda solo a media hora del centro. También estuvimos en el (Chukagai) el Barrio Chino de Yokohama y comimos ahí, la verdad que muy grande y muy bueno, y con la misma onda que todos los barrios chinos del mundo.

Pero esta no era la primera vez que estuve en Yokohama, el viernes a la noche también fui a Yokohama con Megumi y Salimos a comer y pude ver la cuidad de primero de noche y luego de día el domingo. La verdad Yokohama es una hermosa ciudad y tiene algunas cosas parecidas con Buenos Aires.

El finde pasado estuve en varios lugares también, el domingo fui de vuelta a la cancha con Isamu a ver a FC Tokio vs. Chiba y empatamos (jeje), igual cantamos y saltamos con los ‘furigan’ (hooligans o barras bravas) que son unos amistosos totales (JAJAJAJA), que te dicen “gracias por venir” cuando te vas de la cancha!! (igual que en Argentina!) llovió y nos mojamos completamente, nos regalaron una toalla de FC Tokio y estuvo divertido.

Ah, otra de las perlitas de la cancha en Japón: cuando termina el partido los suplentes que no jugaron en el partido, van a las tribunas a limpiar! y vienen con guantes y bolsas grandes a juntar vasos de plástico o alguna basura que haya quedado!!! Y se los puede ayudar, así que Isamu y yo juntamos algunas latas y vasos junto con los jugadores. (2 minutos, tampoco la pavada)

El Sábado a la tarde acompañe a Azusa a comprarse una compu en Akihabara (el barrio de productos electrónicos) y nos pasamos un buen rato mirando y comparando precios hasta que Azu compro una ‘Sony Vaio’ muy linda y un poco cara y se fue contenta, a su casa, yo seguí la caminata y me fui a la estación ‘Akabane-bashi’ cerca de la torre de Tokio donde me encontré con Natsuki (también conocida como Natalia) y cenamos en un resto Argentino ‘El Caminito’, me encanto la comida, super autentica, y lugar muy chiquito y buena onda, con música del tango y después Fito Paez y otros temas muy argentos. Lo que si todos japos! El chef inclusive, aunque había vivido muchos años en Argentina. De ahí unos drinks en Shinjuku y a volver a casa en ultimo tren (historia repetida de cenicienta de los medios de transporte japoneses que me obligan a volver a casa a antes de les 12:36, ultimo tren a ‘Seijo Gakuen Mae’ mi estacion… jejejeje)

En días anteriores estuvimos Con Natsuki, Mecit, y Yaya en Asakusa, barrio antiguo de Tokio y estuvo muy bueno. Además nos sacamos una ‘Purikura’ que son unas fotos muy japos que les subo alguna acá…

También me encontré con Dena, en el cheto barrio de Asakasa (no confundir con Asakusa, ojo, yo me confundi) es una amiga de Joe Joe una amiga francesa que conocí en Canada y que es una buena buena onda!!!!!

En los próximos días se vienes mas y mas historias con la llegada del verano y que se terminan las clases!!!!! Por ahora se vienen exámenes así que dos semanitas de papeles volando!!! Les mando un abrazo enooorme!!!
